In 1912, La Pedrera (Casa Milà), the iconic landmark building designed by architect Antoni Gaudí was completed on Barcelona’s Passeig de Gràcia. It was celebrated with the show “Emocions en moviment”.
To celebrate the 100th anniversary of La Pedrera (Casa Milà), Barcelona citizens were treated to a free tour around the building where 150 dancers and musicians from Barcelona dance schools performed around every corner and on the roof.
Inside, the atrium was transformed into a performance space; in the auditorium, the dancers crawled and climbed over the chairs and even danced on the balustrades of the staircase, which the audience had to climb to get to the roof with the famous chimneys.
Later that evening, moving images were projected onto the façade of the building with eight live professional dancers interacting with them. Dancers crawled over the façade, appeared in the windows and balconies. Giant hands reached out of the windows and the building was splashed in colour.
